In the ever-fickle world of trance, Mike Koglin has always been a byword for consistency, and 2009 has been no different for the German DJ and producer who has lived in London since 1990. His own label, Noys Music, remains at the forefront of inventive trance, and his own releases on labels such as Anjunabeats, Ministry Of Sound, Intuition Recordings and Positiva are the work of a man at the top of his game. One release above all defines his 2009 - the infectious crowd pleaser 'Find Me', released on Intuition and featuring the vocal talents of Tania Laila, without doubt one of the discoveries of the year. "She turned up at the studio one day as a backing singer," explains Mike of their fortuitous meeting. "We got on really well - she's a great writer and lyricist, and has an exceptional way with melody." As well as working on a follow-up to 'Find Me', Koglin has spent 2009 "clocking up the Air Miles," but the big news for next year should be the release of his second artist album. "It will be similar to (previous collection) 'VS' in that I'll be collaborating with other DJs," he explains.
